3rd Tip: THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT
Time is valuable! When a lead or patient is running late it is easy to make the assumption they will not show up. Here are 3 tips to increase your shows:
- 15 minutes prior to the appointment the practice should do a quick On Your Way call and text. This a short, “just checking to see if you are on your way” call and text.
- If no response, 10 minutes after the scheduled time have your team do a Running Late call and text. This should remind them the appointment was for today and that you have not seen them. Check to make sure they are okay and see if they are running late, having trouble finding your location, or need to reschedule.
- Depending on the appointment time, if they did not respond or show up reach out one last time that day. This will be for the Reschedule call and text. Again, make sure they are okay and see if they would like to reschedule.
Frequently reaching out will allow the patient to inform the practice of what is going on or allow them to reschedule quickly when something comes up. Things happen so this is a good way to take the pressure off of missing an appointment.
